The monsters who made Pipkins obviously hated kids.
In one episode they told us Old Mr Pipkin (the actor who played him) snuffed it. They actually turned to the camera and said the old boy was dead. Not 'gone to live In the country'. No replacement actor. No, it was "This is what happens, kids. Soon it'll be your granddad. Or even you" Or words to that effect. Almost.
